In this practical webinar, you will receive detailed information regarding FASB's Accounting Standards Update (ASU) 2016-14, which simplified and improved how nonprofit organizations tell their stories through their financial statements. This ASU includes significant changes from the existing financial reporting model for nonprofits that has been in effect for more than 20 years. This webinar will also cover FASB's proposed ASU, Clarifying the scope and the Accounting Guidance for Contributions Received and Made, which will revise how government grants and contracts are accounted for. Upon completion of this webinar, you will be able to:
  • Describe key provisions of FASB's new reporting requirements, such as liquidity and availability disclosures, net assets classifications (with and without donor restrictions), expenses, and investment return
  • Interpret key provisions of FASB's Proposed Accounting Standards Update, including government grants (exchange transaction versus contribution) and conditional versus unconditional contribution
