  • Recall how the Names feature can simplify formula auditing
  • Locate buried worksheets
  • Access password-protected workbooks
  • Use the Conditional Formatting feature to identify duplicates in a list

  • Hide, display, and locate cells that contain comments—and much more

  • Identify two ways to instantly display all formulas within a worksheet
  • Describe how range names can minimize errors, save time in Excel, serve as navigation aids, and store information in hidden locations
  • Audit all named cells in a workbook with ease by way of the INDIRECT function in all versions of Excel and the FORMULATEXT function in Excel 2013 and later
  • Navigate formulas in slow motion with the Evaluate Formula feature
  • List the pros and cons of using the F9 key within Excel's formula bar to evaluate a portion of a formula
  • Trace dependents and precedents, both with Excel features and keyboard shortcuts

  • Utilize Excel's Trace Error command to track the ripple effect of errors in spreadsheets
  • Use the N function to annotate formulas within the formula bar when a cell comment won't suffice

  • Explain why Excel is opposed to circular references
  • Verify that a pivot table is actually referencing all the data you're expecting to be summarized
David demonstrates every technique at least twice, first on a PowerPoint slide with numbered steps, and second in Excel 2016. He'll draw to your attention any differences in Excel 2013, 2010, or 2007 during the presentation, as well as in his detailed handouts. His webcasts are fast-paced, and attendees often are surprised at the amount of ground he covers in a session. He welcomes participants' questions, so come ready to pick his brain. David's detailed handouts, with numbered steps, serve as reference material you can utilize going forward. He also provides an Excel workbook that includes most of the examples he uses during the webcast.
