Excel's Custom Views Feature | | | | | | | February | | 7 | 1 pm - 2:40 pm ET | | | | | | | | | One of the most overlooked features in Excel is Custom Views. In this webinar, you'll learn how to use the Custom Views feature to automate many aspects of Excel and improve your large Excel workbooks. Upon completion of this course, you'll be able to: - Define how to replace an existing custom view with new settings
- Identify how to remove all custom views from a given workbook and unhide all worksheets within a workbook
- Recall how to freeze or unfreeze worksheet panes
- Apply different filter settings with just a couple of mouse clicks
- Resize the application window for a given workbook
- Switch between Custom Views by way of a hidden drop-down list you can enable on Excel's Quick Access Toolbar
- Turn screen elements—such as scroll bars, gridlines, worksheet tabs, and more—on or off
- Explain how shared workbooks automatically create a custom view for each user
- Describe the types of settings that can be managed
- Explain the power—and the risks—of grouping worksheets
- Identify which features, such as Custom Views, you can't use when one or more tables exist in a workbook
- Set a print range that includes multiple non-contiguous areas of a worksheet
- Remember frequently selected cell ranges or cursor positions
- Toggle a trial balance between a working trial balance view and a journal entry view
- Apply different print settings, including orientation and margins, to a single worksheet
- Hide and unhide multiple worksheets with ease
- Make a single set of data serve multiple purposes
- Wrangle long lists of data by filtering instead of sorting
David typically demonstrates techniques from the version of Excel used by the majority of attendees. This means he uses Excel 2010, 2013, or 2016 to demonstrate techniques, but his detailed handouts identify differences in Excel 2007, 2010, 2013, and 2016 when needed. His webcasts are fast-paced, and attendees often are surprised at the amount of ground he covers in a session. He welcomes participants' questions, so come ready to pick his brain. David's detailed handouts, with numbered steps, serve as reference material you can utilize going forward. He also provides an Excel workbook that includes most of the examples he uses during the webcast. Course Reviews from Past Attendees
