Course Description

Part 1: Research-Based Methods for Motivating Employees
1/28/2019, 1 PM to 2:15 PM, ET

Many believe that the best way to motivate employees is money and fringe benefits. Today, through extensive research, experts have discovered that most of your employees are not motivated primarily by money, and instead are motivated by non-monetary factors, such as autonomy, relevance, and mastery. In this practical webinar, you will examine those factors of motivation in detail and learn how you can use these techniques to get better productivity from your organization. Upon course completion, you will be able to:
  • Distinguish between financial and non-financial motivators and how they affect different levels of employees
  • Recognize why some monetary motivators actually de-motivate an employee
  • Identify specific steps managers and leaders can use to motivate their employees
  • Differentiate motivators for different age-groups
  • Determine specific ways to use the key motivators of autonomy, relevance, and mastery in developing an employee relations system

Part 2: How to Hold More Productive Meetings
1/29/2019, 1 PM to 2:15 PM, ET

When asked about going to meetings, most employees (and even executives) say that they dislike the experience primarily because they consider meetings to be a "waste of time." In this practical webinar, you will learn techniques to put life and meaning in your meetings to the point where they are anticipated because they are creative, fun, and - most importantly - productive. Upon course completion, you will be able to:
  • Identify the different types of meetings and develop a format for each
  • Create a problem-solving meeting in a highly collaborative style
  • Establish a system that requires proper follow-up and doesn't allow anything to "fall between the cracks"
  • Eliminate needless meeting items that waste huge amounts of time
  • Double the productivity of your meetings

Part 3: Negotiation Skills: How to Win
1/30/2019, 1 PM to 2:15 PM, ET

When you think about it, almost everything in life is about negotiation, and yet we seldom take time to learn how to do it in the most effective manner. In this practical webinar, you will learn the art of "common-goal" negotiation. This negotiation style has been proven as the best chance of success, with minimal risk. Upon course completion, you will be able to:
  • Distinguish between various types of negotiation styles and choose the best for the situation at hand
  • Analyze the needs and wants of the other party and see how they match your needs and wants
  • Turn an adversarial negotiation into one where each party wins
  • Identify the traits of "power negotiation" and know how to combat them
  • Determine how to turn a lose-lose prospect into a potential win-win

Part 4: Establishing Metrics for Your Team
1/31/2019, 1 PM to 2:15 PM, ET

While some organizations have almost no accountability through metrics, others seem to bombard everyone with data. In this practical webinar, you will see how to establish a systematic metric system for your organization that keeps employees accountable and moves the organization to success. Upon course completion, you will be able to:
  • Differentiate between input and output metrics and know when to use each
  • Develop a system to choose metrics for a department that employees can buy in
  • Develop a metric system that can be used throughout the organization
  • Distinguish between different types of metrics and identify when to employ them in particular situations
  • Increase the efficiency of the organization through a systematic use of metrics
  • Analyze your customer service and improve it through the right metrics
